3 Easy Cash-Flow Strategies to Jumpstart 2012
January 9th, 2012January is usually the time when all the retailers put their merchandise on sale. Why? Because sales always go down in January since everyone either spent their extra money on the holiday season or are paying their credit card bills from the holiday season. So January usually is the slowest month of the year. What can you, as a business owner do about it?
The most obvious thing you can do is plan ahead by making sure you have put aside enough extra money at the end of the year to cover the bills in the New Year. But I want to tell you about 3 ways you can earn extra money in the beginning of the year so you can have consistent income not only in January, but also throughout the year.
Here are my 3 favorite cash flow strategies to jump-start your business in 2012.
1) Special Report
Create a new report on a subject you have expertise in. Your audience is always looking for something new and the New Year is a great time to introduce a special report with new information. If you can make one that is about 50 pages with rich content, you can use it as an introductory product that can sell for $7 to $10.
This will give people a sample of you and your business. Be sure to end it with a special offer that leads into a higher priced product, and a call to action. Then if they want more they will know the next action step to take. (Here’s the link to mine: http://bit.ly/q0mW4F)
2) Introductory Session
Offering a low-priced introductory session can be another way for people to get a sample of you and your services. As a consultant or coach you never want to give free consultations because that devalues your work. Free discovery sessions where you explore the possibilities with a potential client are what you give away. Consultations or laser coaching sessions are ones for which you can charge a small fee of $97 to $297.
In the low-priced introductory session you can pick one challenge that the client and help them with it. During the session they should be able to get a result that will impress them enough to want to do more work with you. The session becomes a lead-in to a higher priced program.
You will get more interest if you give it a compelling title. Mine is: “Business Breakthrough Session.”
3) Virtual VIP Day
The third cash flow strategy you can offer is the virtual VIP Day. VIP Days are a wonderful way to dive deeply into an area that the client needs help with and help them achieve a lot of results in a short period of time. It’s like getting 6 weeks of coaching in one day. These are also called one-day intensives and you can charge anywhere from $500 to $2500 for a day’s work, depending on your subject and your level of expertise.
A virtual VIP Day can be put together fairly quickly and because it’s virtual (online or by phone) you don’t have to deal with details like housing, transportation, and meals. You can just focus on the material you want to cover and the results your client wants to receive. The best part is that you only have to design it once, but you can offer it over and over again. The VIP Day is also a lead-in to your higher priced coaching programs.
Adding a few thousand dollars to your monthly income can certainly keep the bills paid and gives your business a more consistent income. You just need to know how to design and market a VIP Day to receive that extra income.

The key word here is ‘cash flow’ and I love the tips and advice you share here Jeannette! This is the time to really evaluate your business and your income source or sources. I am concentrating on getting back into affiliate marketing to create another stream of income. It was something I successfully did in the past but took some time away to focus on my coaching/consulting biz.
